Did you know that Chronic absenteeism means a student misses 10% or more of school days in a year (about 18 days), for any reason (excused, unexcused, suspension), is a major predictor of academic outcomes, including lower reading skills and higher dropout rates (Source: U.S. Department of Education). While absenteeism could stem from issues like health challenges, transportation issues, family needs, or other aspects of disengagement, we want to ensure you know that at CMS and (insert school name) we’re here to help and want to ensure your student is successful and learning.
